Senior Golang Software Engineer

Developers primarily interact with the Redis database through client libraries and integrations. These libraries are widely used across commercial and open source projects. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the growth and development of Redis’ Go ecosystem. A key responsibility of this role is to enhance the developer experience by actively collaborating with open source communities.

What you’ll do:

Contribute to and develop the go-redis client library, driving improvements and innovation
Collaborate on open source projects used by developers worldwide
Advocate for an exceptional developer experience by implementing best practices in Go
Add support for both existing and new Redis features to go-redis, as well as other libraries and ecosystem projects
Work closely with external contributors, library users, client developers, product managers, and collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams

What will you need to have?

Be a real team player
Ability to communicate technical terms and concepts clearly
Familiarity with agile methodologies and work environments
Experience with designing software solutions from scratch
At least 5 years of hands-on development experience
A minimum of 3 years experience developing with Go
Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Extra great if you have:

Proficiency in another programming language, for instance Java, C, C++, Rust, or Zig
Strong understanding of distributed database systems and network technologies
Experience with maintaining a public open source library
Practical experience with database systems
Familiarity with Linux
