The Redis Field Engineering team is dedicated to developing and supporting tools, libraries, and integrations that empower our customers to succeed with Redis. We work closely with our product, solutions engineering, and customer success teams, ensuring that our solutions address real customer needs, whether during pre-sales, renewals, or ongoing support. Our projects span a wide range of areas, from observability (e.g., Grafana) to data access (e.g., Redis OM libraries).

As a SW Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic team of customer-facing software engineers with deep expertise in databases. You will contribute directly to the creation of tooling that helps internal and external customers better understand their Redis databases. A critical part of our role is ensuring that Redis offers a superior developer experience, so your work will go beyond functional code to include a focus on usability, documentation, and enablement materials.

As we continue to grow the team, we’re looking for someone with strong Node.js and TypeScript experience. You should also have the ability to work productively in Python.

Success in this role requires a solid foundation in software engineering and the versatility to engage with customers, resolve support tickets, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. You’ll also collaborate closely with internal teams, including product managers, core engineers, and solutions architects, to deliver high-impact solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality tools, libraries, and integrations 

  • Engage with technical field teams to gather insights and address the evolving needs of our customers.

  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of field engineering solutions, from ideation to deployment and support.

  • Enhance the Redis developer experience by focusing on usability, documentation, and enablement materials.

  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript

  • Ability to work productively in Python

  • Strong working knowledge of Linux and modern software development tooling, including a preferred IDE ,Git, Github, and general CI/CD experience

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing

  • A minimum of five years of software engineering experience

  • Experience using RDBMS or NoSQL database technologies

  • A customer-focused mindset with the flexibility to provide support outside of normal working hours when necessary

Extra Points For:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science

  • Experience with Redis

  • Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana

  • Familiarity with both cloud-based and on-premises deployment environments
