Backend Software Engineer – Cloud Unit

Who we are
We’re Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. (If you checked the weather, used your credit card, or looked at your flight status online today, you’re welcome.) At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences. You in?

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Redis Cloud Unit.

As a member of the Cloud Unit, you will be responsible for the cloud deployment of the software behind the fastest NoSQL clusters on earth, supporting more than 200 million ops/sec at sub-millisecond latency with true linear scalability.

Our ideal candidate is a talented individual who loves working with a diverse team of bright and ambitious people, is passionate about technology in general and particularly about cloud-related challenges, performance, and distributed computing, and one who is a team player and a quick learner,  and is always eager to learn and improve.

So, if you’re all that and you want to make an impact while contributing to a wildly successful unicorn, then this is the right challenge for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop the next generation of Redis’ cloud products and solutions.
  • Own Redis Cloud features end-to-end, from requirements through design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Design and develop resilient and robust cloud orchestration systems and become a top-tier cloud expert.
  • Improve and maintain the Redis Cloud infrastructure, enhancing the product’s ability to reliably handle many thousands of customer databases.
  • Work closely with team members, Product, DevOps, Support, Customer Success, and other R&D teams.

What you’ll need:

  • Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of hands-on backend development experience working on a large-scale, production-grade system
  • Experienced with a mainstream backend language such as Java, Python, C#, Scala
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and coding skills, with a good understanding of large-scale architecture and design patterns
  • Self-direction, passion, eagerness, and ability to learn new things
  • Excellent written & spoken English
  • Be independent and resourceful, while also being a collaborative team-player

Extra Great:

  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and SaaS products
  • Experience with databases: SQL and NoSQL (especially Redis)
  • Experienced in working with and designing large & complex systems
