Experienced Integration Engineer, Ecosystem

Who we are

We’re Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. (If you checked the weather, used your credit card, or looked at your flight status online today, you’re welcome.) At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences. You in?

Developers primarily interact with Redis through client libraries and ecosystem integrations. These libraries and frameworks are used across thousands of commercial and open-source projects. We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help grow Redis’ presence in the developer ecosystem by building high-quality integrations and improving the developer experience. A key responsibility in this role is collaborating with open-source communities to create seamless and intuitive ways for developers to use Redis..

Why Would You Love This Job?

Are you a developer who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys contributing to open-source communities? Do you believe that great APIs should be both powerful and intuitive? Have you worked with multiple development frameworks and want to help shape how other developers build applications? If you’re also someone who can take an idea from concept to implementation, this role is for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Integrate Redis into popular development frameworks (e.g., Spring, Flask, Laravel), making it simple and intuitive for developers to leverage Redis features.
  • Engage with open-source communities—contributing to upstream projects, participating in discussions, and representing Redis in the broader ecosystem.
  • Collaborate closely with maintainers of client libraries such as Lettuce, redis-py, and Predis.
  • Partner with the Redis Developer Experience (DevEx) product team to understand developer needs and define priorities for ecosystem integrations.
  • Write technical documentation, guides, and code examples that help developers adopt Redis quickly and effectively.
  • Stay current with trends in developer tools, languages, and frameworks, and serve as a trusted subject-matter expert internally and externally.

What will you need to have?

  • 3+ years of experience developing in Java and/or Python
  • 2+ years of experience in an additional high-level programming language (e.g., JavaScript, PHP)
  • Deep, hands-on experience with at least two major backend development frameworks
  • Strong understanding of software development workflows and experience designing solutions from scratch
  • Comfortable navigating open-source environments, including working via GitHub, mailing lists, or community platforms like Discord
  • Familiarity with how Redis is used by developers in real-world applications
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Extra great if you have:

  • Maintainer or contributor to a public open-source project or library, preferably in the context of a major development framework
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and networking
  • Experience with other database systems in addition to Redis
