Redis is looking for a Team Lead to build and lead our brand-new Control Plane Services team. This is a unique opportunity to hire and grow a team from scratch, shape a new domain within Redis R&D, and lay the technical and cultural foundations for long-term success.

The Control Services team will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the services that power the Redis Enterprise control plane. These services will enable internal teams access to the Redis Enterprise control plane through robust programmatic access, deep observability, and integration into both our cloud and on prem offerings.

The Control Plane group manages the Redis Enterprise product lifecycle, including database management, cluster health, APIs, cloud and cloud-native integrations, and UI. As the founding leader of the Control Services team, you’ll have a central role in defining and driving how Redis Enterprise evolves to meet the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders.

What will you do?

Build and lead a new team of talented software engineers within the Redis R&D Control Plane group.
Define and own the Control Services domain—laying the technical vision, roadmap, and execution plan.
Design and develop core services that expose Redis Enterprise capabilities via robust APIs and seamless integrations.
Drive observability, operational excellence, and scalability across all Control Services components.
Lead new initiatives that integrate Redis Enterprise into modern cloud environments and workflows.
Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to align on architecture, APIs, and product strategy.
Recruit, mentor, and develop your team to foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

What will you need:

At least 6 or more years of experience working with large-scale, complex systems.
At least 2 years of software development team management experience.
Strong technical background in backend services, API design, and scalable architectures.
Experience with cloud computing and operating systems (specifically Linux)
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in greenfield, fast-paced environments.

Extra great if you have:

B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or or equivalent experience.
Experience with Python and Go
Experience working with large-scale distributed systems
Experience with at least one of the big cloud platforms
Have participated in an end-to-end big data and/or large-scale performance challenge
