Redis Labs Named a Leader in Independent Big Data NoSQL Report

Company received highest scores possible in install base, performance, high availability and disaster recovery, and open source and licensing

Mountain View, August 25, 2016—Redis, home of Redis, today announced it was named a leader in the “The Forrester Wave™: Big Data NoSQL, Q3 2016,” report by Forrester Research. Redis Enterprise Cluster (RLEC) received the highest evaluation scores possible in eleven out of twenty six categories including Multimodel, In-memory, Data Types, Data Consistency, Workloads, Deployment Architecture and Application Development.

The report claims that “NoSQL is not an option — it has become a necessity to support next-generation applications. And increasingly, enterprises of all types and sizes are embracing NoSQL to support their business technology (BT) agenda.” Redis is recognized as a leader in this report, which it believes demonstrates the power of the passionate community behind open source Redis, and its role in fueling the radical growth and adoption of the in-memory database platform since its inception in 2009.

According to the report: “Redis enables many use cases, including real-time analytics, transactions, data ingestion, translytical, social media, job management, message queuing, and caching.” Earlier in the report, it is also stated that “Redis supports both relaxed and strong consistency, a flexible schema-less model, high availability and ease of deployment.”

“We are honored to be named a leader by Forrester Research,” said Ofer Bengal, co-founder and CEO of Redis. “Redis’ explosive growth is testament to the broad support from enterprises that appreciate high availability, scale, and extensibility of our Redis Cloud and Redis Enterprise Cluster offerings. We believe that this recognition further highlights the power of Redis’ innovation within the enterprise NoSQL database market.”

Redis’ technology enhances open source Redis with seamless scaling, enterprise grade high availability, smooth automation and top-notch expert support. Redis Modules, introduced in May 2016, expand Redis’ capabilities to solve an infinite variety of use cases with its characteristic high performance, resource efficiency and simplicity. As companies increase the size of their datasets in Redis, and expand their Redis use cases, Redis helps them achieve up to 70 percent lower operational costs with Redis on Flash. This unique solution uses a combination of RAM and more cost-effective Flash memory to deliver high throughput of millions of operations/second with sub-millisecond latencies.
