#Redis certification FAQ

Is there a Redis certification available?
The Redis Developer Certification was deprecated in June 2024 due to outdated material. There is currently no planned date for an updated certification. Completing Redis University courses still earns you certificates of completion, which demonstrate your Redis proficiency.
How do I earn a certificate of completion?
Pass all exams and quizzes in a course with a score of 80% or higher. Viewing content is no longer a requirement -- only assessment scores count toward certification.
Are Redis University courses really free?
Yes. All courses and learning paths on Redis University are completely free of charge. Create an account and start learning immediately.
Can I find my certificates from the previous Redis University platform?
Certificates from the past two years were migrated to the new platform. Log in with the same email address you used previously and navigate to your profile. Certificates for deprecated courses (Redis Developer, Redis Security, Running Redis at Scale) were not transferred. If a certificate is missing, email [email protected] with your username and course details.

#Announcements

Redis University launched on a new platform on September 18, 2024.
Certificates of completion were transferred with your email address to the new platform for the last 2 years, with the exception of Redis Security, Running Redis at Scale, and the Redis Developer Certificate. Each of these courses were deprecated due to outdated material, and there are no current plans to reinstate them.
RU101 (Introduction to Redis Data Structures) was replaced by Get Started with Redis. Certificates of completion reflect this change.

#Common issues & troubleshooting steps

#Login issues

Question: I am getting stuck on the 'Now logging into Redis University' screen.
Answer: We are investigating this issue. It seems to happen periodically but with unknown cause at this time. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot.
  1. Clear your cache and close the browser. Reopen and try logging in to Redis University.
  2. If that does not work, please email [email protected] so we may document.
  3. Optional: To help further in our research, share the HAR file from your browser.
Here are the steps to share the HAR file:
  1. Open Chrome and navigate to university.redis.com and select log in.
  2. Right-click on your screen and choose "inspect".
  3. Select the "network" tab.
  4. Check the "preserve log" and "disable cache" checkboxes.
  5. You will want to ensure that your network tab is recording by looking for the red record button.
  6. If it is gray or black, click it to begin recording. If you have any activity that is already loaded in your network tab, you can clear it by clicking clear.
  7. Perform the action, or reload the page, that is causing the issue with the network tab open and recording.
  8. Once you have completed the action and the network tab has loaded all the content, right click within the inspector tool, and select "save as har with content".
  9. Save the file to the desired location on your computer and then attach it to email to [email protected].
Question: I am not receiving the 'Forgot Password' email when trying to reset my password.
Answer: Ensure email did not go to your spam. If not in spam, email [email protected].
