Apply for this role

Who we are

We're Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. (If you checked the weather, used your credit card, or looked at your flight status online today, you’re welcome.) At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences. You in?

Why this role matters

Redis is the world’s fastest data platform, trusted by millions of developers and enterprises to power real-time applications at global scale. Our partnership with Microsoft Azure powers Azure Managed Redis (AMR), one of the most strategically important managed Redis offerings in the cloud ecosystem. This role sits at the center of that partnership - ensuring Redis and Azure evolve together, scale together, and win together.

Why you’ll love this job

  • Shape the future of Redis inside one of the world’s largest cloud providers.
  • Influence roadmap decisions across two companies without formal authority.
  • Work directly with senior engineering and PM leadership at both Redis and Microsoft.
  • Improve large-scale production systems through systemic thinking - not firefighting.
  • Act as a force multiplier whose leverage comes from technical depth, credibility, and trust.

What you’ll do

You will own the end-to-end health of the Redis–Azure engineering partnership.

Partnership & Alignment

  • Align Azure Managed Redis (AMR) roadmap and execution with Redis’s long-term product strategy.
  • Ensure Azure-specific changes in Redis are rare, intentional, and justified.
  • Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key Microsoft engineering and PM leaders.
  • Keep Azure engineering teams engaged, motivated, and aligned.

Technical & Operational Leadership

  • Monitor production trends and identify systemic patterns behind incidents.
  • Drive long-term fixes rather than reactive responses.
  • Track critical Azure-facing bugs and features to ensure momentum and clarity.
  • Oversee CVE communication and vulnerability coordination.
  • Inject Azure perspective into major Redis feature development.

Strategic Growth

  • Expand Redis’s strategic footprint within Microsoft.
  • Ensure AMR growth is not constrained by Redis-side friction.
  • Leverage Microsoft’s operational rigor to improve Redis Cloud and on-prem offerings.
  • Surface risks early (release timelines, performance concerns, incident patterns).

What you’ll need to have

  • 10+ years of experience in distributed systems, cloud platforms, or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Deep technical credibility with engineering teams.
  • Experience in influencing without formal authority.
  • Strong product intuition and roadmap alignment experience.
  • Experience working with hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) or large enterprise partners.
  • Ability to identify systemic patterns in production environments.
  • Executive-level communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and relationship-building ability.
  • Be located close to or in Redmond, WA, to be able to visit Microsoft HQ on a weekly or bi-weekly basis

Extra great if you have

  • Direct experience with Redis or similar data platforms.
  • Background in SRE, large-scale operations, or incident management.
  • Experience working inside Microsoft or with Azure engineering teams.
  • Experience managing strategic technology partnerships.
  • Exposure to vulnerability management and coordinated CVE processes.
  • A track record of scaling cloud services to large fleet sizes.
