Redis Labs Brings In-memory Enterprise-grade Redis Databases to Pivotal Cloud Foundry

New integration enables enterprises to leverage the highly available, scalable and high performance Redis Enterprise Cluster inside their private application clouds

Mountain View, May 24, 2016—Redis, the home of Redis, the world’s most popular in-memory NoSQL database, and Pivotal®, the company accelerating digital transformation for enterprises, today announced the beta availability of the Redis Enterprise Cluster (RLEC) tile on the Pivotal Network. This new integration delivers the highly available and seamlessly scalable Redis on Pivotal Cloud Foundry® , enabling enterprises to build and deploy world-class enterprise applications on a stable, high performance and zero operational hassle database.

Pivotal Cloud Foundry-based applications can now access RLEC through an easy-to-deploy tile in the Pivotal Network. Redis is chosen for Cloud Native applications because of its persistence, versatility and incredibly high performance (millions of operations/second with sub-millisecond latencies on a single cloud instance). Developers can now easily create highly responsive and scalable Redis-based applications cost-effectively and with the assured enterprise grade high availability of RLEC.

“At Pivotal we help customers re-architect their businesses for the cloud,” said Nima Badiey, head of business development for Cloud Foundry at Pivotal. “A Cloud Native architecture implies applications built for horizontal scale, always-on resiliency, and coupled to scalable data platforms. With Redis’ availability on the Pivotal Network, our users can build apps powered by the industry-leading highly available Redis. This combination of Pivotal Cloud Foundry and RLEC allows our customers to operate at scale with lower operational cost and higher service availability.”

“We are pleased to collaborate with Pivotal Cloud Foundry to deliver enterprise grade Redis to customers for use in real-time operational and analytics processing scenarios,” said Rod Hamlin, vice president of global alliances and strategic partnerships at Redis. “The integration provides a unique way for next generation applications to crunch increasingly large quantities of data with extremely high throughput and low latency.”

This joint solution from Redis and Pivotal will be available as a private beta for early access customers beginning May 24, 2016.
