Jim started as a data practitioner, connecting systems, interpreting complex datasets, extracting insights, and building models to help businesses make better decisions with data. He leveraged his experience applying analytics and change management to help other companies accelerate their business with AI. Jim excels at telling simple stories about complex technical concepts with clear examples and the occasional bad joke.
Jim holds an MBA from Berkeley and an engineering degree from Purdue University. He has held past roles at Databricks and Olive where he helped customers get the most out of AI. He’s happiest discussing key considerations for structuring a database or what the must-have ingredients are for the best chili. He likes to relate his personal experiences to applications with data so that listeners walk away with a clear understanding of the tradeoffs and uses of various technologies.
