Redis Certification Program Terms and Conditions

Redis Certification Program Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: July 2, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern Your participation in the Redis Certification Program (“Program”), including Your registration for, purchase of, and participation in any Redis certification exam (“Exam”) and Your receipt of any digital credential or badge issued in connection with the Exam and Program. The Program is operated by Redis, Inc. (“Redis”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By registering for or purchasing an Exam, You (“Candidate” or “You”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If You do not agree to these Terms, You may not register for or participate in any Exam.

1. Program Overview

The Program currently offers the following associate-level customer certifications, each delivered via Kryterion, an AI-proctored secure exam platform:

  • Redis Associate Developer Certification
  • Redis Associate Software Operator Certification
  • Redis Associate Cloud Operator Certification

Additional certifications, including partner certifications and advanced-level certifications, may be offered from time to time.

Redis reserves the right to change the platform(s) through which Exams are delivered or digital credentials are issued at any time, without prior notice to Candidates. In the event of any such change, Redis will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the continuity of Candidates' certification status and credential accessibility.

2. Eligibility and Registration

The Program is open to all individuals, including Redis customers, community members, partners, and employees.

To register for an exam, You must (a) be at least eighteen (18) years of age; (b) have a valid account on the Kryterion platform and provide accurate, current and complete registration information. You represent and warrant that all information You provide in connection with Your registration is true, accurate, current, and complete.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of Your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under Your account. A Candidate may not permit any other person to use their account or to take an Exam on their behalf.

3. Payment and Refunds

Exams must be purchased through the Kryterion platform or such other channel as Redis may designate. Once payment is confirmed, You will receive access to schedule Your Exam. All payments are processed by Kryterion on behalf of Redis. Pricing is subject to change at Redis’ discretion; however, any price change will not affect purchases already made.

Redis may, from time to time, offer promotional discount codes, vouchers, or complimentary exam access ("Vouchers"). Vouchers are subject to the specific terms and conditions accompanying their issuance, including any expiry dates and usage restrictions. Vouchers have no cash value and may not be transferred, resold, or applied retroactively to prior purchases. Only one Voucher or promotional code may be applied per transaction unless otherwise stated.

Refund requests must be submitted within seven (7) days of the date of purchase and before the Exam has been scheduled on the Kryterion platform. No refunds will be issued once the Exam has been scheduled or an exam attempt has been initiated, regardless of whether the attempt was completed. To request a refund, contact Redis at university@redis.com.

4. Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Cancellation

Following purchase, You must schedule Your Exam through the Kryterion platform. Exams are available on a rolling basis, subject to platform availability.

You may reschedule or cancel Your Exam at no charge provided the request is made at least twenty-four (24) hours before Your scheduled Exam time. Rescheduling requests made less than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled Exam time may not be accommodated and will result in forfeiture of that exam attempt.

Failure to appear for a scheduled Exam without prior rescheduling will be treated as a failed attempt and will result in forfeiture of that exam attempt. You understand that we may charge additional fees for later cancellations, missed appointments, or rescheduled Exams.

If You have a disability or require special accommodation, we offer extended time versions of all of our exams upon request. Once You schedule Your exam, please request an extended time by sending Your request to univeristy@redis.com. We require 72 hrs of advanced notice for extended time requests or any other special accommodations so we can make sure the proper arrangements are made.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Kryterion's platform policies with respect to scheduling, these Terms shall govern to the extent practicable.

5. Exam Attempts and Retake Policy

Each Exam purchase includes one (1) exam attempt. If You do not pass the initial attempt, you can purchase additional exam attempts at the then current price and retake the Exam after a fourteen (14)-day waiting period. Redis may, on a case-by-case basis, issue Vouchers for an additional exam attempt.

Attempting to circumvent the retake policy through use of multiple identities, alternate email addresses, fraudulent registrations, or other means is prohibited and may result in denied or revoked certification status.

6. Exam Format and Environment

All exams are delivered online via Kryterion and are human and AI-proctored to ensure integrity. You are responsible for ensuring that Your testing environment meets the technical and environmental requirements specified by Kryterion, including but not limited to hardware, internet connectivity, browser specifications, and physical environment requirements. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the Exam being terminated and the attempt being forfeited.

By scheduling and sitting for an Exam, You consent to the monitoring, recording, and analysis of Your testing session, which may include video, audio, screen capture, and behavioral analytics, for the purpose of maintaining exam integrity. Please review Kryterion's privacy policy (available at www.kryterion.com/privacy) for details on how Your data is collected, processed, and stored during proctoring.

If unauthorized software, remote access tools, or suspicious activity is detected, the Exam session may be suspended, terminated, or invalidated.

7. Candidate Conduct

By registering for an Exam, You agree to:

  1. Complete the Exam independently and without assistance from any other person or unauthorized resource;
  2. Refrain from reproducing, distributing, disclosing, or sharing any Exam content, questions, or answers in any form, whether during or after the Exam;
  3. Comply with all instructions provided by Kryterion and Redis before, during, and after the Exam;
  4. Not use unauthorized materials, tools, software, or devices during the Exam; and
  5. Not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the proctoring or security systems in place.

8. Certification Award and Validity

Upon achieving a passing score on the applicable Exam, You will receive:

  1. A Certificate of Completion (“Certificate”); and
  2. A digital badge (“Badge”) issued through Accredible, which You may share on professional networks, social media, and other platforms.

Each certification is valid for two (2) years from the date it is earned, unless otherwise specified by Redis. Upon expiration, Your certification status will be marked as expired and You will no longer be entitled to represent Yourself as currently certified by Redis.

To maintain an active certification, You may be required to successfully complete applicable recertification requirements prior to the expiration of Your certification. Details of any recertification requirements will be communicated by Redis in advance of expiration. Redis reserves the right to modify recertification requirements at any time upon reasonable notice.

9. Use of Credentials and Badge

Upon achieving a passing score and subject to these Terms, Redis grants You a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to: (a) state that You hold the applicable Redis certification; and (b) display, share, and reference Your Redis certification credential and Badge for personal and professional purposes, provided that such use is truthful and accurately represents the specific certification earned and its current validity period. This license is conditioned on Your continued compliance with these Terms and may be revoked by Redis at any time in accordance with these Terms.

You agree not to:

  1. alter, modify, or reproduce any Badge or Certificate in a manner not authorized by Redis;
  2. display, represent, or imply that You hold a Redis certification that You have not earned, or that Your certification is active when it has expired or been revoked; or
  3. use the Redis name, trademarks, logos, or service marks (“Redis Marks”) in a way that implies employment by, partnership with, or endorsement by Redis, unless such relationship independently exists.

You acknowledge that a certification is not a warranty, endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee by Redis of a candidate’s skills, competence, or suitability for any particular role or project.

Redis reserves the right to revoke, invalidate, suspend, expire or remove any Certificate or Badge in the event of misconduct, fraud, or breach of these Terms.

10. Exam Content and Confidentiality

All Exam content, including questions, answers, scenarios, and related materials, is the proprietary and confidential information of Redis (“Confidential Information”). You agree not to disclose, reproduce, transmit, or share any Exam content during or after the Exam, whether in whole or in part, through any medium, including online forums, study groups, or social media. A breach of this obligation constitutes a serious violation of these Terms and may result in immediate revocation of any credentials earned, a permanent ban from the Program, and legal action where appropriate.

11. Intellectual Property

All Exam content, study materials, Badges, Certificates, Redis Marks, and all other intellectual property associated with the Program are the exclusive property of Redis. Nothing in these Terms grants You any ownership interest in or license to any Redis intellectual property beyond the limited right to display Your earned credentials as set forth in Section 9.

In addition to these Terms, Candidate’s use of the Kryterion and Accredible platform is subject to the applicable terms of service and privacy policies of Kryterion and Accredible respectively.

12. Misconduct, Suspension and Revocation

Redis may, in its sole discretion, disqualify a Candidate, withhold or revoke a certification, and/or suspend or permanently ban a Candidate from the Program if Redis determines that the Candidate has:

  1. engaged in fraud, dishonesty, or misrepresentation in connection with the Program;
  2. Disclosed, reproduced, or distributed Exam content in violation of the Terms;
  3. engaged in conduct that is harmful to the integrity or reputation of the Program; or
  4. violated any other material provisions of these Terms.

If You believe a misconduct determination has been made in error, You may submit a written appeal to Redis at university@redis.com within thirty (30) days of receiving notice of the determination. Redis will review Your appeal and issue a written decision within thirty (30) days of receiving Your appeal, or such longer period as Redis may reasonably require for matters involving complex investigations. The decision of Redis following the appeal process shall be final and binding.

Redis reserves the right to investigate suspected misconduct and to take appropriate action.
